Visitors

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is a welcoming church, and we hope you will feel comfortable worshiping with us. We are small enough that we know who you are; you will be greeted warmly when you visit. You will be accepted as you are, regardless of the clothes you wear, the color of your skin, or the way you speak.

What to Expect at Worship

You will find it easy to to follow worship using the detailed bulletin we provide. You will be inspired and challenged by a Biblical, Christ-centered message that is relevant to your life in today’s world. You will be uplifted through music from congregational singing, an excellent choir, and our accomplished director of music. We worship in a blended style, which follows the Lutheran liturgical form but includes a variety of musical styles.

Offerings are not expected of our guests; if you choose to make an offering, please do so freely and not because you feel obligated. There is an offering plate in the narthex (when you first enter the sanctuary) or you may contribute online.

You will not be put on the spot or singled out in any way. You will be asked to give us your name and address, but you will not be pressured to do so. We might drop you a note, but no one will be showing up on your doorstep, unannounced.

You will be invited to receive Holy Communion with us as we welcome all people to join us at the Lord’s Table of grace, no matter what their religious backgrounds may be.

What to Wear

Please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. At worship you will find people wearing jeans, shorts, t-shirts, football jerseys, dresses, suits and ties. Most people dress more on the casual side.

Children

Your children will be valued as an important part of our worshiping community. Special bulletins will be provided for them. Activity bags and children’s books are also available from a library, just for worship. Children will be invited to come forward to hear the children’s message. If you have children age 5 or younger, you may leave them in the nursery with our professional childcare worker and nursery volunteers. All of our nursery staff have received background checks.

Where to Go and where to Park

We are located at 1900 The Plaza, Charlotte, NC 28205 (Google Maps) You can park in one of our two parking lots. A few spaces have been designated especially for our guests. If the parking lot is full, on-street parking is available, as well. An accessible ramp and entrance is on the right side of the sanctuary near the handicap parking spots. The red main entrance doors to the sanctuary have a few steps and face The Plaza.

How You Can Join Us

After you’ve spent some time with us, if you would like to make a commitment to join us in our mission, please speak with the pastor. If you come to us from another Lutheran congregation, we will transfer your membership. If you have not previously been a Lutheran, Lutherans 101 classes are offered two or three times a year as the need arises. In addition, all new members are encouraged to attend one of our orientation sessions which usually coincide with the time when a new members group is received.
